About the Role
LIV is looking for a tech-savvy Solution Consultant (Sales Engineer) to help sell LIV’s ITM and compliance platform to fire departments, public safety agencies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). The LIV Solution Consultant serves as a product expert who bridges the gap between sales teams and customers by demonstrating our products, matching capabilities to AHJ requirements, answering product and technical questions, and helping customers understand how our solution fits their environment. The Solution Consultant will partner closely with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to understand customer needs, tailor presentations, address technical requirements, and successfully close deals.
All candidates must have strong technical skills and deep experience with fire and/or public safety software applications. Candidates should have deep experience in one of the following positions or backgrounds:
· Experience working in the fire service at an AHJ or fire department, preferably in fire prevention. Ideal candidates with this background have deep experience with technology and fire safety software applications
· Experience working at technical pre-sales, product management or another product/-tech-centric role at a SaaS or GovTech company that provides fire service and public safety software solutions
Responsibilities
· Partner with Sales to serve as product expert in sales cycles and engage with prospective customers to understand their requirements, workflows, and challenges
· Lead product demonstrations and solution discussions tailored to fire departments and AHJs
· Serve as a LIV product expert with the ability to present the platform to a range of stakeholders
· Answer technical questions related to product functionality, integrations, and system capabilities
· Coordinate any follow-up on product-related and technology questions
· Deliver product demonstrations aligned to customer requirements and use cases. Prepare and configure custom demos as needed
· Support Proof of Concepts (PoCs), pilots, or technical validations if required
· Manage the RFP response process and maintain library of updated RFP content
· Help position LIV as a trusted partner within the fire prevention and compliance community
· Apply your understanding of fire service and public safety technologies to convey LIV’s value in a way that resonates with both operational users and leadership stakeholders
· Travel for and participate in customer meetings and industry. Build relationships with fire service professionals, prevention leaders, and public safety stakeholders
· Maintain strong product knowledge, including new features and roadmap updates. Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and evolving best practices
· Partner with Product and internal teams to share customer feedback and influence ongoing development
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
· 5+ years’ experience working in either the fire service at a fire department, preferably in fire prevention OR in technical pre-sales, product management or another product/-tech-centric role at a SaaS or GovTech company that provides fire service and public safety software solutions
· Proven technical aptitude and deep experience with fire safety software applications
· Ability to understand customer requirements, identify challenges, and translate them into practical, solution-oriented approaches
· Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to prepare and lead engaging product demonstrations for wide range of stakeholders
· Ability to handle technical questions and objections in real time. Familiarity with SaaS platforms and integrations (APIs, data workflows, etc.) is required
· Ability and comfort to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
· Familiarity with fire prevention operations, including inspections (including third-party inspections), permitting, code enforcement, and compliance workflows
· Experience using CRM tools (such as Salesforce, HubSpot etc.) is valued.Willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry events (25+%)
